A thirty-year veteran of mechanical, HVAC, hydronics and controls systems design, sales, installation and service. I am an HVAC consultant and the owner of A.I.Reps helping firms to fill the gap between sales and project execution on an as-need basis. I have spent my career providing application-specific building solutions, and developing unique design strategies for projects in commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. I take a holistic approach to system design and implementation by building on an active Growth Philosophy, creating collaborative relationships with customers and vendors for long-term success.
I enjoy collaborating with those same businesses and customers in the industry that I have devoted my professional life to supporting and representing. Providing the same level of professional expertise; independently, increasing production efficiencies to help firm’s meet their short-term market demands.
With experience as a Manufacturer’s Representative, Mechanical and Electrical Contractor, Account Executive, Sales Engineer, and Service Sales Rep, I have had the privilege to fully encompass the role of a complete building solutions provider across a range of project types and sizes within the construction industry. My many roles have ranged from equipment and system design, controls integration, outside sales, installation, warranty and service – to project management, sales management, and business management.
Over the course of my career, I have been a Factory Representative for a diverse collection of the world’s leading air conditioning equipment, hydronics, plumbing and controls manufacturers, including McQuay, Daikin Applied, ABB, Dectron, Ingenia, Addison, Alerton, Bell & Gossett (B&G) / Xylem, Inc. and many others.
As a sales engineer, calling on building owners, facilities managers, consulting engineers, and mechanical contractors, I provided a broad array of products spanning from DX, chilled water and hydronic systems – to various energy recovery technologies, with particular specializations in custom air handling units, VRV/VRF systems, 100% OA dehumidification units, and custom fan arrays.
I am not only a seasoned veteran of the HVAC industry, I am also a proud Veteran of the US Armed Forces, joining up right out of high school. Serving proudly in the Army as an Artillery Forward Observer (13F), I had the privilege to be stationed at the Headquarters Battery of VII Corps Artillery in Augsburg, Germany, working for General Creighton W. Abrams (namesake of the Abrams Tank). We deployed to Saudi Arabia in late 1990 as part of Operation Desert Shield, providing artillery command and control, intelligence gathering and joint-force communication throughout Operation Desert Storm.
After my service, I began working at the family company, Pierson Heating, Air Conditioning and Electrical Contractors, where I honed my trade skills in HVAC, refrigeration and electrical installation and service. I earned my journeyman’s license, while running installation crews and doing outside sales. I learned business accounting from my mother and business management from my father. As we grew the company, my father ran the electrical side, and I managed the HVAC side while earning my Florida State Certified Mechanical Contractor’s License.
After more than a decade as a contractor, I found my way into the world of Manufacturer’s Representative, where I could put my attention to detail and interest in mechanical equipment to good use. Working for Brooks Air Systems (now Brooks Building Solutions), is where I found my passion for the process of system design and engineered sales. This is where I became an expert in custom air handling unit design, complex energy recovery and dehumidification systems, and a vast assortment of mechanical equipment.
I take pride in applying high-efficient, modern technologies and practices into mechanical systems and management processes, I enjoy solving problems for customers, and teaching others about the fundamentals of air conditioning, and the many interesting facets of our industry.
